It’s Monday, November 17th — Day 78 — and today’s all about tightening up the split test on the Classic Riffs funnel and making serious progress on the new “Your First Song” funnel build.
I’ll also update you on Google Ads (spoiler: still painfully quiet).
Daily Numbers
Yesterday brought some much-needed relief:
Sales: $817
Ad Spend: $503
Profit: $314
After a few rocky days, that’s a solid bounce back into healthy profit territory.
Today’s sitting at $303 by 3 p.m. — not amazing, but stable enough for a weekday.
Updated Split Test: A Fair Comparison
You’ll remember the previous split test where I compared:
One big “Muscle Memory” bundle (42 riffs)
Three individual “Classic Riffs” volumes (14 riffs each)
That earlier test was flawed because the visuals and messaging were completely different — I was effectively testing a proposition change, not just a format change.
So I’ve stopped that test and rebuilt a cleaner one.
Here’s the setup now:
Control: Single product image for the 42-riff “Muscle Memory” bundle.
Variant: Same design style, but showing three matching volume covers to reflect how the product is actually delivered inside the course.
The messaging, colours, and layout are identical — only the presentation changes.
This means I’ll finally see whether showing multiple volumes creates higher perceived value, without confusing visitors or breaking the emotional hook.
A small but crucial refinement — this is how meaningful split tests should be run.
Funnel Build Progress
The big project this week is the Your First Song funnel. The strategy is already mapped — now it’s about execution.
Here’s where I’m at:
All funnel pages (upsells and downsells) have been structurally created.
Working now on writing and building the first upsell page.
The order bump is finalised — it includes:
A downloadable Practice Planner
A 30-day email series with daily guitar tips and motivation
That’s a nice blend of accountability and added value — something that should appeal strongly to new guitarists.
My plan is to get the main upsell page live today, and rough versions of the remaining upsell/downsell pages in place by tomorrow.
Once everything’s functional, I’ll refine the copy and positioning in later iterations.
The key is momentum — getting traffic running and collecting data as early as possible.
If all goes to plan, I should be ready to restart paid ads on Thursday, ideally with some new video creatives I’m planning to shoot tomorrow (if I can overcome the reluctance to get in front of the camera!).
Google Ads Update
Still… nothing.
No impressions, no clicks, no spend. The campaign status says “Learning,” and the only warning was that my daily budget was too low.
Google recommended £120/day (double my initial budget), so I’ve increased it accordingly. It’s a bit nerve-wracking — especially since I have no data yet — but it’s the only lever left to pull.
There are now no errors or alerts, so hopefully that nudge will kick things into motion within the next 24 hours.
That said, I’ll be watching it very closely. If it starts burning through spend without conversions, I’ll pause and reassess quickly.
Focus for Tomorrow
Finish the upsell page and test the bump offer flow
Monitor for any Google Ads activity
Prepare video ad scripts and short-form creatives for Thursday’s relaunch
Momentum is everything right now — the sooner the funnel’s live, the sooner I can start measuring real results.
