Day 25: Building a Metrics Dashboard to Stay on Track

Yesterday’s Snapshot

  • Sales: $1,018

  • Ad Spend: $447

  • Profit: ~$570

A fantastic day. And with sales already at $504 by early afternoon today, the momentum continues.

But what really struck me today wasn’t the numbers—it was perspective.

Last September (2024), my entire month’s sales were $5,351. This September (2025), I’ve already cleared $24,000.

That’s not just growth—it’s transformation. A reminder that progress often compounds when you focus relentlessly on the right things.

Why a Dashboard?

There’s a saying: “You can’t improve what you don’t measure.”

This journey to $240K isn’t just about running ads and watching sales. It’s about understanding the numbers deeply enough to steer the ship with confidence.

To do that, I built a metrics dashboard—a simple spreadsheet that helps me track progress without drowning in data.

Here’s what it covers:

  • Sales vs Target (tracking towards $240K)

  • Profit vs Target (aiming for $120K)

  • % to Target (measured in half-month updates for trends)

  • Ad Spend (GBP → USD conversions)

  • Leads + New Customers (to spot organic growth)

  • Core Metrics:

    • CPA (Cost per Acquisition) → aim: always down

    • AOV (Average Order Value) → aim: always up

    • LTV (Lifetime Value) → tracked over 60 and 90 days

And finally, a section to log split tests. In just three weeks, I’ve already run four—and documenting them means I don’t repeat mistakes and can see what’s moving the needle.

Reflection: Why This Matters

Recording these videos daily has accelerated my learning. Every test, every win, every failure—it’s forced me to move faster and track smarter.

The dashboard is more than numbers. It’s a motivator. Soon, I’ll turn the data into graphs, so I can literally see the story of progress unfolding.

Because when sales dip (and they will), I’ll need that visual reminder to stay focused on the bigger picture.

This isn’t just about hitting targets—it’s about building a system that shows me where to focus, when to push harder, and when to refine.
