Day 123: A New Year, and a New Milestone

Happy New Year. Today is the 1st of January 2026 and the first day of month five in this journey to $240K.

It’s slightly surreal saying that out loud. September, October, November, December… and now month five.

Time really does move quickly when you’re tracking numbers daily.

I wanted to use today as a light reflection point rather than diving straight into tactics. Looking back over the past few months really highlights just how much perspective changes as the numbers grow.

Reflecting on Earlier Milestones

I still clearly remember the first time I made $100 in a single day. At the time, it felt enormous, even though it was a complete one-off. Then there was the first $10,000 month, which felt like a once-in-a-lifetime event when it happened.

What’s interesting is how those milestones shift.

Once you’ve crossed them, they stop feeling impossible and start feeling like part of a longer progression. That’s something I’ve noticed again recently.

A New Personal Record

Looking at the last 30 days, this is the first time I’ve ever crossed $25,000 in a single rolling 30-day period.

That’s a number I genuinely never thought I’d hit. You see people sharing those kinds of stats online and it always feels distant, almost abstract.

But slowly, through optimisation, learning where the real leverage points are, and refining what already works, the numbers have crept up month by month.

Hitting $25K over 30 days feels like another meaningful milestone in this journey.

Yesterday’s Numbers

Yesterday closed out at $910 in sales. Ad spend sat at around £411, which works out at roughly $553, leaving a profit of $357 on the day.

Given it was New Year’s Eve, that felt like a solid result. You never quite know what behaviour looks like around holidays, so I was more than happy with that outcome.

Increasing the Budget Into January

This morning, sales were already coming in strong, which prompted me to increase the budget again. I added another £20 per day, taking the total daily spend to £440.

That’s a psychologically uncomfortable number to look at, but the only way to scale is to follow what the data is telling you. If the return holds, the spend is justified.

As of around 1pm today, sales were sitting at $756, which puts the day on track for a strong finish if momentum continues.

Current Strategy: Minimal Intervention

Right now, I’m deliberately doing very little beyond budget adjustments.

No major funnel changes, no new creative, no restructuring. The priority is stability and letting the system run while demand is strong.

Over the weekend, I’ll have more time to properly analyse December and then step back and review the first four months as a whole. That’s where some more meaningful strategic decisions will come from.

Looking Ahead to January

January is traditionally a strong month for anything related to learning, education, self-improvement, health, or skill building. People reset, set goals, and look for momentum.

At the same time, advertising competition usually ramps up significantly. More advertisers enter the market with fresh budgets, which can push CPMs higher.

That balance between opportunity and competition is something I’ll be watching closely.

As long as the return remains strong, I’ll continue nudging the budget upwards. If performance dips, I’ll pull it back just as quickly.

Where This Journey Stands

At this point, the challenge is clearly on track in terms of sales. The bigger question now is profitability and how consistently that profit can be protected as spend increases.

Over the coming days, I’ll be sharing a deeper breakdown of what’s worked, what hasn’t, and where the real leverage points are. That includes the good, the bad, and a few ugly lessons that are easy to gloss over when things are going well.

Final Thoughts

Month five feels like a turning point.

The systems are proven, the numbers are meaningful, and the focus now shifts towards consistency and controlled scaling.

I’ll share more detail once I’ve had time to properly step back and analyse everything, but for now, it’s a strong start to the year and a promising position to be in.

Here’s to seeing what 2026 brings.
